Allie Stack grew up inspired by her Mom’s love to cook and the delicious meals she brought to the table. Her childhood was spent drawing on the walls in her bedroom and often getting reprimanded for doodling in her notebook in school. She first discovered clay in high school and went on to receive her BFA in Ceramics from the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. After graduating she spent time working in the Twin Cities before relocating to the southeast where she now lives and makes pots surrounded by the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. Allie’s work reminds us to slow down, enjoy our meals, and to not take life too seriously. Her pieces are meant to evoke a light-hearted and happy feeling while drawing on the whimsy and spontaneity of everyday moments.
